The tour booking service is extremely convenient and helpful. Kyle talked to me for an hour about my music and my accomplishments as a musician, wrote up an awesome pitch and then sent out about 50 emails for each market. All I had to do was sit back, watch the responses come in and decide which gigs I wanted to accept. Every band wants a booking agent; someone who is an expert in the field and can do all the work, so the band can focus on making music. Booking a tour is particularly difficult since you are trying to find appropriate venues in various markets, on specific dates. Then, in many cases, the venues require you to find local acts to help fulfill the draw. Without a booking agent, this is a daunting, complex, and challenging task. Enter IOTM. For a very reasonable fee they write your email pitch, and using the dates and markets you requests, they organize it into a plan and send out a ton of emails for you. Then, if needed, they send out a folow-up pitch for an even smaller fee. They also provide proven advice on how to find local bands for each market. The idea of booking a tour ourselves was always something I thought you needed a manger for. I googled 'tips for touring' and Indie on the Move kept popping up. Finally I entered in the URL, read some reviews and decided to take what I thought would be a risk. Turns out, it wasn't a risk at all... It was a career move. The database of contacts and venues saves you hours of having to search the internet using specific keywords, or worse finding out of date information about the venue. IOTM also helps you with planning your tour, teaches you how to market yourself and your music, and how to set your band up for success on the road. Indie On The Move is always the first resource we use when booking our tours. We've been using the site for about five years to book shows on the road. Aside from letting us know the venues exist, IOTM does a fine job of letting bands and artists give honest opinions about the places they've played. Before the phone consultation with Kyle, my web presence was pretty scattered and in need of a makeover. The resources and articles he recommended and then provided via email afterwards enabled me to spruce up my website and social medias in areas that would make booking shows a lot easier. Then Kyle sent out the email pitch he had formulated with me to the regions on our tour route.
