I really can't speak highly enough of the Indie on the Move. I had used their website to book some of my shows years ago, and the experience then on my own was the best way i found as an independent musician to get a foot in the door with a lot of venues on my own. Then, life changed and touring stopped but then years later life changed again and I was ready to play out again in 2024. Going into this I was worried I would struggle to get gigs that would pay decent enough to cover my fuel expenses and have some profit left over. It seemed like an impossible mountain to climb. Using their pro services and ala carte market selection I have booked over twenty shows for myself this summer and fall. Thus far through the summer, the trend in terms of guarantees, and tips from the venues I have booked with has been very positive, not perfect but it is a place to build and grow from. I'm currently booking additional shows for the fall and making plans for where I'd like to try to go in 2025. If you are tired of trying to do this ALL on your own and could use a little help the pro services seem worth their weight in gold for getting the ball rolling with booking shows whether its for a tour or weekend warrior stuff. The initial investments has a little sticker shock, but its super professional and helpful for getting things set up in a professional manner. Booking shows and trying to get paid for them has always been the daunting part of playing shows, this year it feels more doable than it ever has and i'm excited to continue to work with them into next year. -J. https://www.indieonthemove.com/users/J_Carmichael"If it's your first tour or your one hundred and first tour, Indie on the Move is truly a priceless resource. The time and care it took to list all this information on so many venues is admirable and IOTM has done the entire independent music community a service by maintaining a site like this. I started using the site back in 2011 and it helped me achieve my goals of being a full time traveling musician. I for one do not take all the hard work and dedication that goes into this site for granted and if you are a part timer trying to do shorter regional tours or a full blown road warrior on the road non-stop, this is the one site that can keep the wheels turning. Thank you Indie on the Move!"
https://www.indieonthemove.com/users/bryanssuperhappyfuntimeHi this is Henry from Denver based instrumental duo, "Circadian Melodies", and I can not say enough about how helpful Indie on the Move is. We were looking to finally make the jump to playing shows outside of our local market and IOTM gave us the tools we needed to make it happen. We started by pitching our tentative tour itinerary and they gave us realistic advice as to how to make our vision a reality. Within our timeframe to make the project a success, we were able to contact venues in the desired area we wanted to play, organize cool shows with cool local and touring acts and most importantly, hit the road!
https://www.indieonthemove.com/users/HenryBurgwynIn this time where so much is in flux, people are struggling and finances are challenging, the idea of touring can feel so scary. To be honest, I was unsure if I could take the plunge into planning a summer tour this year - mostly because of the emotional toll of not having time to research venues as much as I would like. Working with IOTM to plan my tour this year was such a balm for my anxious soul. I felt so taken care of every step of the way, and they took so much guesswork off my plate. That sounds over the top, but its true - and also, within days of sending pitches I had booked in most markets where I was hoping to play. I feel easy and excited about tour now, and I am so grateful.
https://www.indieonthemove.com/users/EllyKaceI felt like I was spinning my wheels and wasting a TON of time researching venues, and sending emails that were ultimately never getting responses. Indie On The Move helped me hone my pitch, organize my promo materials, and then sent a TON of pitches to venues in all the cities I was looking into playing. The results were stunning! I've booked a bunch of shows already, with many more in the works. This is SUCH an invaluable resource for any musician who wants to get out there on the road, I'm so grateful for you guys!!!
https://www.indieonthemove.com/users/derekfrankWhen I was JUST starting out touring, hoping 4-5 people would show up, IndieOnTheMove was a great resource for finding small spots to perform! Now that we're booking 300, 400, 500+ cap venues all over the US, it is a must-have tool for anyone who has the DIY spirit. We're not beholden to a booking company BECAUSE IndieOnTheMove exists. I don't know how medium-sized bands could possibly book a tour without this database being kept up-to-date. They couldn't have picked a more fitting name -- we are staying INDEPENDENT, and we are definitely ON THE MOVE. Thanks IOTM! Bug from Bug Hunter
https://www.indieonthemove.com/users/bughunterbugIOTM was very helpful as I researched venues for this latest tour from Utah through the Pacific Northwest and back. I decided to schedule the tour a little late and I had to really scour to find venues that were not already booked out. But with IOTM’s help I was able to hit all the cities and towns I wanted to and connect with fans. IOTM is a great resource.
https://www.indieonthemove.com/users/romanarkTaxo And The Band formed in 2023. We play original hardrock, heavy metal, and 80s hair metal with a modern day twist. Taxo Michaels is on lead vocals, Jamie Vavra is on lead guitar, Diego Morgado is on bass guitar and background vocals, and Phil Jaurez is on drums. Indie On the Move helped us book our biggest gig yet and we are so grateful!
https://www.indieonthemove.com/users/JazzHandsForAutismWhat a fantastic resource Indie On The Move is. I don't know how I could have filled out my next tour without them. The music business is such a hostile place, and it's so nice to find an oasis of someone who helped me do what I find is the hardest and most discouraging part: booking! And for such reasonable prices. Indie On The Move can't be beat. Thank you Kyle for being so personable and responsive and for making this essential website.
https://www.indieonthemove.com/users/VivianDeConciniDiscovering Indie on the Move was a big moment for my music career. From crafting booking emails to navigating negotiations, Indie on the Move equipped me with the tools and confidence to succeed. Now, thanks to their help, I'm gearing up for an exciting tour this fall. I can't thank them enough for their support and dedication during this process. If you're a musician looking to take your career to the next level, I wholeheartedly recommend giving Indie on the Move a try—it could be the game-changer you've been searching for.
