From your account dropdown menu in the top right hand corner of the site, there is an option for settings. Once there you will notice the general alert options as well as the option to update your password, but the "Manage Follow" button on that page can take you to the more advanced alert customizations which you can find HERE.
It is this section of your account that you can see/change venues that you follow/block, users that you follow/block as well as those that follow you, and specific to show availability alerts the genres of music and the cities/states that you follow. All of these preferences will help you to be as informed as possible about the opportunities on the site while limiting the unwanted/irrelevant alerts.
