Layers And Frames is a Philadelphia based electronic/world/folk duo - imagine Simon & Garfunkel meets Stereolab. It is the musical brainchild of Frederic Brewer, a French-American singer and guitar looper who spent four years in China, served in the Peace Corps and developed a signature sound reflecting the globalized world. Completing the duo with a foundation of synth bass, keys and vocal harmonies is pianist Mark Sulik. Since 2011, Layers And Frames has performed either in a trio, duo or solo on stages in the US, China, France, Germany, Holland and beyond. The duo formation of Layers and Frames came about in the summer of 2014, but has already toured regionally and recorded two EPs with Gary Dann (Cee Knowledge, The Cosmic Funk Orchestra). Philadelphia's own Gashouse Radio has likened Layers And Frames to Julianna Barwick, Ben Frost and Oneohthrix, while praising "a really strong tonality foundation coupled with unusual rhythms, hypnotic piano and spaced out goodness."
