Channel - a means of communication or expression: As : a path along which information (as data or music) in the form of an electrical signal passes CHNNLL is a trio led by multi-instrumentalist Chris Davidson, and blends the warm analogue sound of live instruments with computer manipulations and warped synths. Chris moved to New York City in 2009 to pursue a career as a jazz drummer and composer. While attending The New School For Jazz and Contemporary Music, Chris had the pleasure of studying with Reggie Workman, Mark Guiliana, Kendrick Scott and Billy Martin. While Chris’ appreciation for jazz is still strong, he has grown as a musician and composer into a new musical direction. Chris is no longer behind the drums on the stage, but up front singing, switching between keyboards and guitar, reincarnated as front man CHNNLL. “I’m taking all my experiences from life so far and putting them all into my music. It’s all me and I’m not holding back.” CHNNLL has written, performed and produced all the music you will hear on his upcoming EP to be released in May 2017.
