I'm a Swedish singer/songwriter on a two year tour throghout the USA and I'm using IOTM all the time to find venues and booking contacts. I don't even know how many of the venues I've played so far has been through IOTM, but probably 70% at least! In 9 months I've played about 150 shows in 31 states and right now I'm booking for next year. It's been quite the adventure as well as a great way to introduce my music and my new album The Owls Are Not What They Seem to the US market. Just a few years ago it would have been so much harder to do a tour like this, and IOTM is such a big part of making it easier for artists to get on the road! /Sofia http://music.sofiatalvik.com
https://www.indieonthemove.com/users/makakimusicMy band Xombie was putting together this incredibly detailed Google document of every promoter and venue we worked with or wanted to work with. Then I found IOTM and realized I had been completely wasting my time! IOTM has everything we needed. IOTM has helped us book countless shows, get in touch with a few media contacts, and has helped make our tour a reality. Thank you very much -Xombie
https://www.indieonthemove.com/users/XombieThe LC's have been around for 2 years and have always used IOTM to book shows on a national and regional basis. We don't know how IOTM does it, but they attract a very professional and responsive set of bar and club owners and bookers....rare in this biz! The knowledge base, contact lists and helpful tips and information that are found here can't be duplicated....at least not that we've seen, and believe us, we've seen em all. Keep up the outstanding work IOTM crew! The Legendary Clampetts http://www.thelegendaryclampetts.com
https://www.indieonthemove.com/users/legendaryclampettsIOTM has put the power of touring into our hands. We are able to imagine the tour, look up the venues, write the emails, book the shows and then do what really counts, which is to play live. We (Jim Hanft and partner, Samantha Yonack) have booked over 4 tours with the help of IOTM and will continue to use it as a necessary resource. It is truly insane that this site is free and YOU ACTUALLY SEE RESULTS. https://www.indieonthemove.com/users/lawnmowersoundsHey there! I just wanted to take a few minutes and say "Thanks" to IOTM! A year ago, I had no idea where to even begin when it came to booking shows. We are now in the middle of a 52 show tour, taking place over about 3 months - and we did it all with IOTM. We use the venues lists, artist lists, classifieds and press lists all on a daily basis. We divide it up so that one band member works on each section of the site and it makes DIY touring completely smooth. It's perfect for us because while we don't have a lot of money to pay professional bookers or agents, we do have time, and with IOTM, that's everything. We're saving a lot of money by running the tour DIY and without IOTM, that would be impossible! Thank you, thank you, thank you for helping us and all the other great bands out there working hard to do what they love. We wouldn't have it any other way. Andrew England in 1819
https://www.indieonthemove.com/users/englandin1819I just wanted to post a quick message thanking you for the amazing resource you've put together for independent musicians. My name's Michael McFarland, I'm a rhythmic alt-pop singer/songwriter from Asheville, North Carolina. I'm about to embark on my second tour of the year - the first was 23 dates, all east of the Mississippi, this tour is 30 dates, ranging from Chicago to Minneapolis to Austin to San Diego to Portland - and I booked them both using only IndieOnTheMove. I don't know what I'd do without your site! You can check out my whole tour schedule here: http://michaelmcfarlandmusic.com/tour-dates/ And the rest of my website, is of course: http://michaelmcfarlandmusic.com/ Thanks again, and keep up the incredible work! https://www.indieonthemove.com/users/michaelmcfarlandI have been using IOTM for about a month now and it has change the way I do business. I own a boutique booking agency and IOTM has helped me emmensely in finding new bands, and finalizing shows. Also, finding new venues in booking tours for my clients. Thank you IOTM!
https://www.indieonthemove.com/users/LRockEntertainmentIt was about 2 and a half months of a quite successful run and we booked the entire thing through Indie On the Move. You guys are the best and have really got a lock on all things indie! We used the site to find venues to play, posted to the classifieds to find support acts on nights when we booked the whole bill and even found a few shows in the band wanted section to hop on while we were killing time last minute in random cities. From your DIY guides- to the in depth information you provide on each club we knew exactly what we were getting into before even stepping foot in any venue. Indie On the Move prepared us like nothing else for the trials and tribulations of the road and had us one step ahead of the rest- able to enjoy every mile! The staff is so friendly and supportive- you guys even went so far as to log into my account for me and help me fix some adds when I couldn't get to the internet- you saved a show or two of ours and for that I cannot thank you guys enough. We are headed back out on the road this summer which means countless hours consuming every bit of information your site has to offer and flipping back and forth between IOTM and Gmail- I don't even want to imagine a day when you had to use a yellow pages to book. In 2012 all you need is an email account and IOTM and you can book shows with the best of them!
https://www.indieonthemove.com/users/jrukkusThe members of MF RUCKUS have been touring in various capacities for well over 15 years. I remember the days when all the tour contacts were written down on a scrap of paper, a cell phone was a fairly new and expensive luxury and the only real resources you had were a wing & a prayer. The arrangement of venue listings streamlines the process of submitting requests and saves valuable hours... Band: "Can you suggest any locals" Venue: "All I know is bar sales and meth. Figure it out" Band resources too IOTM? Don't mind if we do! I would have literally given my left nut for a press/media directory. I'm not kidding. That, by far, is my favorite part. Thank you IOTM. You guys rule. PS. Our old band played with Zelazowa at The Nick in Birmingham. They were Intense, terrifying and completely awesome.
https://www.indieonthemove.com/users/MFRuckusI would like to take the time to send this email to you guys and let you know how much we appreciate your service from down here in Louisiana. There have been over a dozen great bands come through Monroe to play at Tsunami who got our info off of your website. There have been countless others that have hit us up, but the dates or routes did not match up - but we made great relationships with the bands because our info is listed. The concept behind Indie On The Move is perfect for the 'do it yourself' way that underground music is being done these days. Your services provide accurate / priceless info that it would take bands, labels, and agencies hours to gather, in a simple to understand format. We (Musicians and Venues in Louisiana ) hope that you guys can continue to provide the service that you offer, and thank you for all the effort you guys put into it.
