This place sucks - I've never liked going there or playing there - the stage is in the basement, and in the summer, it's a fucking sauna there - the sound can be good - if everything is working and some one who knows what they are doing is running the board No Real backstage area, so your shit's in the bar..... and when we played there one of the other bands had a guitar stolen - thank god not us. Over all no one goes to this place to see a show unless its a friends band, and even then, hardly anyone shows up Lamest place in Chicago

The Elbo Room is one of our favorite venues in Chicago. Staff and management are awesome. The sound is great, the lights are great. Basically, it's great.

The Elbo Room is a great club to hit in Chicago. The staff is wonderful, nice and helpful. They have an awesome backline so you don't have to lug your cabs and drums down the stairs. The production and sound at this club is top notch - we took video here and couldn't be happier with the results. A show you definitely need to promote - pay is based on people who come to see YOU, not the to the club as a whole. Luckily they give you a huge list of contacts to help get the promotion done. A great room and receptive crowd - we can't wait to go back.

The Elbo Room is a good club. The sound is really good, their sound guys really know their shit. The staff is always super friendly. And I have to say, they are really good about the door/pay. There isnt a ton of walk in, so make sure you promote the snot out of your show, and if there are in town bands that would be a good fit for your band, make sure and let the booker know that, maybe even contact those bands. But all in all, they are really honest here and supportive of local music.

Elbo is great to play in. The staff are always pleasant - they know what it's like for the bands. Front-of-house sound is good. Stage sound is good. They are straight up when it comes to tallying your number of covers at the door. Both the owner and the general manager are good to work with. We'll be playing there again for sure.
