One of the few good music venues around that genuinely try to help the music scene in Tempe, and all of AZ for that matter. There's never a cover, and depending on who the promoter is you can have band members under 21 play, but be respectful and don't hang out around the bar area if you're under age. Its a tiny room...and I mean tiny. I don't know how you could fit 165 people in there, maybe 50 tops if you get rid of the tables and chairs. The stage is also very small too. For a four piece band you can fit pretty snug on it, but I wouldn't put any more people on it, lol And bring your own equipment(mics, cables, etc..) There's no sound guy, so you are made the sound guy, which is sometimes better if you're a solo act and know what your levels need to be set at than what someone who probably hasn't heard you thinks what you should sound like. Although the shows are free, you should always promote. Its across the street from the Sets and another music venue, so if you didn't promote that well, you should hope there was some good shows at the other venues and up and down Mill ave for people to club-hop to.

Not a bad little "Dive" bar. Excellent drink selection and they offered a nice amount of free beverages. Provided a good amount of promotion for the event. The only issue we had, was the lack of a sound engineer, and we had to do sound for ourselves. One of the two mics available was bad, and sounded like singing in a tin can. We needed both mics and no others were available. Too many opening bands may have ultimately hurt the show, as they often went unchecked and played for too long. Regardless. This was the best turnout and live venue I've been to in the Phoenix area in 3 trips. I would definitely return.
