  • Google Has Acquired Songza

    After weeks of rumors, its official: Google has acquired mood and activity based streaming music service Songza. Neither side is releasing details of  the deal. But originally, reports put the price tag at $15 million. Since then, several other rumored suitors likely pushed the final price higher.  Google says it won't make any immediate changes to Songza. But overtime they will incorporate the startup's technology into Google Play Music and the soon to launch YouTube music streaming...

    Billboard reports that Google has reached a deal to acquire the music streaming site Songza, an agreement that, as previously reported by New York Post, has been in the works since at least the beginning of June.   • Nile Rodgers Shares New Song "Do What You Wanna Do"

    Disco-funk legend Nile Rodgers has shared a new song, "Do What You Want to Do". Listen to it below, via Rolling Stone. It was recorded last summer in Ibiza, and was auctioned off to benefit Rodgers' We Are Family Foundation. The winning label, Cr2 Records, is releasing the song to celebrate its 10th anniversary. It'll be officially out on August 10.
